During organised activities, such as surfing or a paddleboard safari, all necessary equipment is provided. . . just bring your swimming trunks, a towel, a warm waterproof jacket and beach shoes (crocs or an old pair of trainers is fine).
Surfboards, paddleboards and wetsuits are all available to rent, even if you haven't booked tuition! Splash! will usually have anything you might need in the van or on the trailer! Chat to Peter for his advice.

surf & paddle boards
Surfboards with a length of between 8 and 9 feet are generally recommended for beginners. . . and slightly wider, at around 22 to 24 inches, to offer increased stability. These longer, wider, boards make it easier to catch waves and stay balanced as you learn to surf.
Paddleboards are longer and wider than surfboards, for greater stability and better balance. Splash! Wales have a stock of boards up to 10'8" in length, and 30-34 inches wide.
Boogie Boards (body boards) are smaller, easier to carry and one-size-fits-all!
wetsuits
Splash! Wales have an extensive stock of full-length wetsuits in a variety of neoprene thicknesses, to work with a range of sea temperatures.
Although wetsuits ranging in size from XS (suitable for a youngster under 4'6") to XXL are always available, if you or one of your group is taller than 6'3" (2 metres), or weighs over 20 stones (280 lbs or 127 kg), please mention this in advance so that a suitably fitting wetsuit can be brought to the location.

bouyancy aids
The terms bouyancy aid, life jacket, life vest, swim vest or flotation device are often used interchangeably. However; unlike traditional life jackets (or 'life preservers'), which are designed to keep the wearer afloat and upright in the water for extended periods of time, a 'bouyancy aid' is designed to be worn during watersports.

Although Splash! Wales can offer card payment facilities on the beach, this is always subject to the availability of a mobile signal, which can be problematic in more remote locations (just call and ask Peter for advice). . . but cash is always acceptable!
